CyclingPeaks WKO+ & Parallels for Macintosh
19 June 2006
Very cool information from Patrick McNally via the Topica wattage list about using WKO+ on a Mac. There is new software now available called Parallels which lets you run Windows on an Intel based Mac OS X. Within Parallels, you can run WKO+ side by side with native Mac applications. Here’s some instructions from Patrick’s original post on Topica.
Hey Mac people,
Time to put the PC up for sale on craigslist!
1. Purchase and install the release version of Parallels Workstation. From
the VM Menu in Parallels, install Parallels Tools.

2. Install the newest version of CyclingPeaks WKO+ (obviously)

3. Get the new USB cradle from CycleOps

4. Install the USB driver for the USB cradle

Plug in the cradle, and hopefully Windows will start to talk about seeing
new hardware. I just watched as the new hardware wizard automatically added
support for the new cradle.
5. Take Parallels OUT of fullscreen mode. Look in the bottom right hand
corner of the Parallels window and you will see the USB icon. Click on it
and select USB <--> Serial

6. Open up Cyclingpeaks, go to the CyclingPeaks WKO+ home page. Check it
out, now it says something like Com3 (USB Serial Port). Select the port that
is marked like that, and start your downloading.

Repeat step 5 (and check step 6 if you have a problem) each time you
re-launch Parallels.
I can scarcely believe it myself.
