All New File Viewer with GPS Maps and Interactive Graphing

31 May 2007

Today we have launched our new File Viewer within the Daily Log. Anyone that uses a training device like a Garmin GPS or a PowerTap or a Polar heart rate monitor can now benefit from our drastically improved viewer. The screenshot below shows the new interface and you can click the image to see the real life file viewer in action:

The new viewer is built using Adobe’s Flash and Flex technology which gives us a very wide range of capabilities. For now, we’ve focused on getting the basic data displayed, along with maps and graphs.. some of the cool new features:

To access the new feature, just click on the Viewer-beta button within the Daily Log as shown below:

This is being rolled out now so that you can view all your previously uploaded data, as well as your newly updated data. We are nearing completion of our Device Agent, which will compliment the File Viewer, it is the next piece of our revamped device support system that we’ve been developing over the years. Device Agent will make it easier and faster to download your device and send that data to TrainingPeaks.com. Both for Windows and Mac. Stay tuned for announcements on Device Agent.

In the coming weeks will be replacing the old “View Graph” button and relying completely on the new File Viewer, and we’ll be re-plumbing some of the upload process to smooth things over. I’m sure there will be some hiccups along the way, but we hope you’ll see that we’re on to something big. Be sure to check out the Options drop down on the upper right of the file viewer for all the cool additional features like sharing and Google Earth/Maps too!
Please let us know your thoughts and feedback on the new viewer!

Outstanding! You’ve really outdone yourself with this applet… I had a little trouble getting the data right while using the messenger for my Edge 305, but when I uploaded with the Device Agent (beta 65) it worked without a hitch. Thanks very much for your continued hard work!
