2007 Year in Review

31 December 2007

It’s customary for people and businesses to look back at the year that was and reflect on the good and the bad. I wanted to take the opportunity to do the same, and share some fun stats from the TrainingPeaks database.

First of all, we extend the biggest of thank-yous to our loyal and growing users! From coaches, weekend warriors, world-class athletes and age-groupers in between, 2007 has been our best year ever! THANK YOU!

We’ve accomplished a tremendous amount of work this year, much of it not directly visible since we’ve done a huge number of upgrades “under the hood”. You could say that 2007 was the year we worked on the engine, 2008 will be the year we trick-out and upgrade all of our equipment. Just like in training, some of the biggest pay-offs are in work you can do on your own engine; we’ve completed some serious training and now we’ve saved up to buy the top-end frame and components, including disk wheel and everything else! In short, we’ll be unleashing major improvements to the usability, look and feel and performance of TrainingPeaks.com in 2008. Not to mention some killer upgrades for WKO+ are in the pipeline as well.

But I digress.. 2008 is going to be great, but lets look at what YOU did in 2007 from a usage point of view:

Needless to say, you’ve been busy! Which also means that we’ve been growing! We’ve added 3 new developers to our team, and opened an office in Lafayette, Colorado, just outside of Boulder. Without a doubt, it is clear that after 7 years of growth and extremely hard work by our entire team, we’ve just now laid the ground work for our future. We feel like a start-up that has built an amazing set of tools and loyal early-adopter customers, and now we’re ready to make some serious enhancements to our products.

You may have also noticed that we officially changed our corporate name to Peaksware. Simply reflecting that we are a software company dedicated to building software products that Monitor, Analyze and Plan (MAP) your training and fitness. We’ll continue to develop our products toward this goal in 2008.

Looking Ahead
The developments in the pipeline for 2008 will be nothing short of an enormous upgrade for our users. Our excitement and optimism for what we are building is tough to contain. We can’t wait to share what is coming next, and we’ll start to do that in the months and weeks to follow. Our products are becoming more integrated, easier to use, faster and better able to help you, our amazing customers, achieve your athletic and fitness goals.

One final thank you!
Yes, we’re honored that thousands of athletes world-wide trust us with their precious training data. If you were a customer of ours in 2000, your data is still safe and sound in our database, freely accessible at anytime. We’re incredibly proud that over 1,200 professional coaches rely on us to help manage their client’s training, and we are extremely proud that we can work with you to help build each of your businesses. In 2008, we’ll help enable new opportunities for your business through improved functionality, expanded business solutions and new service levels.

From our team to you, our amazing customers, a heart-felt THANK YOU, and a toast: Here’s to 2008, it’s gonna be GREAT!!

  1. Michele Frankie Says:

Your site is great and I think my coach gets annoyed because I’m on it so often and he gets an email everytime.

    One suggestion:

Could you make searching for different foods more user friendly?

    Thanks,

    Michele
