Holiday Training Plans for Cyclists, by Hunter Allen
11 December 2009
Just in time for the holiday break, Hunter Allen has created two different training plans for cyclists who want to take advantage of their time off to improve their fitness on the bike. Designed for cyclists with either 3 hours a day or 1-2 hours a day to train and just 10 days long, these plans are the perfect length to get focused and improve during your December holiday vacation. And, for only $19.95, these plans are an affordable way to stay in shape and even make progress by the end of the year!
The plans are based on both wattage and heart rate, so if you know your FTP (functional threshold power) or FTHR (functional threshold heart rate) then you will be able to easily follow the percentage based workouts. In the 3 hours a day plan, you will incorporate indoor/outdoor cycling, cross-training (weights maybe?) and aerobic exercises as well. In the 1-2 hours a day plan, you will focus exclusively on the bike – unless you find yourself with a few free hours! Make the most of your time off to get focused and improve. Start your plan on the Monday BEFORE your holiday week. So, if you have the week of December 28th to Jan 3 off, then apply your plan in your TrainingPeaks account to start on December 21.
Happy holidays, and happy training!
