Coach Profile: Kevin Purcell


Kevin Purcell has been using TrainingPeaks.com Coach Edition since 2001. A long time customer and incredible athlete & coach. You've probably seen him at an IM near you.. he's done 16! Get to know Kevin below and check out his great site here.

He has been an associate coach at Ultrafit since 2001. His area of expertise is Ironman Triathlon, having completed 16 IMs himself and qualifying for Kona six times, most recently at IM Florida in the 50/54 AG, pictured at right. Coach KP had six athletes qualify and compete at IM Hawaii with him in 2005. Kevin will be back there in 2006 and has four athletes to date already set to join him. Using TrainingPeaks.com he coaches clients from all over the globe; Slovakia, Moscow, Scotland, Singapore, Hong Kong, Ireland, UK, Hawaii, New York, Florida, Washington State, California and areas in between. Kevin has helped elites and beginners alike realize their potential with the latest cutting edge training knowledge. He has been riding with a power meter for five years and over 70,000 miles. The intimate
knowledge of riding with power is yours to learn; both as a racing and training tool. Knowledge of heart rate training and PE are mixed in with expert attention. Dr. Purcell is also a chiropractor, practicing in San Diego for the last 24 years. A father of two daughters and a husband of 20 years as well as working a full time job as an IM coach makes Kevin well qualified to assist the busy professional in finding time to insert IM fitness into their life.
