Motor sport fitness training plans designed to give both recreational and competitive drivers an edge on the competition.Jim Leo, founder and president of Pitfit Training has recently added four Training Plans to the TrainingPeaks extensive library of plans designed and tailored for motor sports specific needs. Jim Leo perfected his craft of motorsports fitness training by working with Roger Penske’s Detroit Diesel corporate wellness center. He began by working with Mr. Penkse’s 1994 Indycar team, who, under Leo’s direction, went on to convincingly claim victory in 12 of 16 races en route to the series championship. The plans focus on the same heart rate zones you will experience during a race and concentrate on specific strength exercises to make sure your only limitation is the vehicle. You will receive a detailed weekly program with every component taken into consideration including cardiovascular training, strength training, reaction training, flexibility training, and rest time. These programs have you training at the correct intensity and difficulty level so you can be challenged and progress to the next level.As with all TrainingPeaks pre-built training plans, you can receive your workout for the day by e-mail, downloaded to your PDA, or by logging in on the web. Once you have completed your workout for the day you can log in and fill in the information pertaining to that day’s workout. You have the chance to track categories such as sleep, diet, how much time in each heart rate zone you spent throughout the workout, and how the workout went for you overall
