Marco Pinotti Files from Missouri
We have a special feature for you this week as Team Columbia's Marco Pinotti will be sending us several of his Tour of Missouri SRM power meter files along with his personal insight into the last big North American race of the season.
Stage 1: St. Joseph - Kansas City- 90 miles
The Tour of Missouri kicked off Monday with a fast 90 mile stage between St. Joseph and Kansas City, which saw Team Columbia's Mark Cavendish win the field sprint. Part of Cavendish's success must be attributed to his Columbia team, who protected him and performed superior lead-out for him in the final miles. To view Marco's SRM file from Stage 1 of the tour of Missouri click here.
Marco described the first day of racing in Missouri as "It was a fast stage, as my SRM data shows, and relatively short. It rained in the last 50 kilometers. As a team it was a perfect stage. We tried to split the group with 35 kilometers to go in a section of crosswind, but then all the peloton was back. In the final we made the lead out for Mark Cavendish, who won again, finishing very hard and good work from the whole team. I pulled from about 4 kilometers to 2.5 kilometers."
- Marco averaged 405 watts for 10 minutes while pushing the pace with his team Columbia teammates in Stage 1.
Look for more data from Marco Pinotti in the coming days.
