Winter Training Advice from Joe Friel

Joe Friel, Coach and Author Joe Friel, Coach and Author

TrainingPeaks founder and Training Bible author Joe Friel stopped by the Peaksware office last month, offering some winter training advice for cyclists struggling with the cold weather. Staying motivated and injury free during the off-season can be tough, especially for cyclists living in colder regions of the world.

To help combat this situation, Joe recommends dressing warmly for outdoor rides, breaking indoor rides into smaller segments to avoid mental exhaustion, and taking advantage of the cold weather to get in some skiing, particularly cross-country skiing as it offers great aerobic benefits.

Watch the video interview below (make sure to click "watch in HD" to learn more about how to stay motivated and in shape until spring!

You can also visit the Training Bible website and check out Joe's training plans available on TrainingPeaks.
