New Features in TrainingPeaks.com 3.0

We released an updated set of features for TrainingPeaks.com 3.0 this week.  While it was largely a "behind the scenes" update, some pretty significant user interface enhancements made it into the release.

Here's our top 5 new features:

1. Uploaded power files now automatically calculate peak power (mean maximal power)  for both Friel and Coggan time values. This feature is only available for Premium users.

2. The Calendar now has the ability to show Activity Comments (Coach's comments) and Post-Activity Comments along with the Description. Of course you can choose the labels you want by clicking "Workouts" in the menu on the Calendar at any time

3. AutoMerge (tm).  Users can upload multiple device files for a workout and the system will AutoMerge (tm) these files into a single file, enabling you to combine different devices and get one complete workout data file.  This is particularly useful if you have for example, a heart-rate monitor and a separate GPS unit.  If you routinely use multiple devices on a single workout, then you'll find this feature very helpful.  How does it work? We simply evaluate the time-date stamp in the data file and align the files based on the timestamp. If the time samples of the units are at different rates, we do a linear interpolation to fit samples into the same sample rate as the highest sample rate between the two files.  Make sure the clocks on your devices are synched.  If the device file does not contain a time stamp, then we simply align based on first sample in each file.

To use the feature, just upload two files using the File Pod on a single workout. This feature is only available for Premium users.

4. Laps and Splits are now displayed for all file types (except .wko files.. yeah, we know that is odd, but we're working on it).

5. Better HTML support in the Calendar and Spreadsheet. You can now use < and > signs when developing your workout descriptions. In some cases, these symbols caused our Calendar to think the text after the < sign was html code, and subsequently would not display the text after a < sign.

We've added quite a few more features, take a look at the full list on our What's New section of the Support Center.

Enjoy!
