Phil Zajicek Wins Final Stage of Gila Tour Ahead of Lance Armstrong and Levi Leipheimer

TrainingPeaks member Phil Zajicek won Sunday’s final stage of the Tour of the Gila just ahead of his breakaway partners Lance Armstrong and Levi Leipheimer.  Zajicek who is a professional on the Fly V Australia cycling team won the 106-mile stage in a sprint against Armstrong and Leipheimer.

Phil Zajicek also led the La Vuelta de Bisbee a week prior to the Tour of the Gila.

Leipheimer won the final general classification ahead of teammate Armstrong. Zajicek started the final stage in 5th place and moved up to 3rd overall with his victory on the final day.

Zajicek trains with a power meter and keeps track of his training through WKO+ and TrainingPeaks.com. His WKO+ Performance Management Chart showed a Training Stress Balance (TSB) of -2 at the beginning of the Tour of the Gila. He is now focused on preparing for the Philadelphia International Cycling Championship June 7th.
