Emailing Performance Files and Reports

As a coach, using a MultiRider system allows you to observe quite a few of your athletes riding at once. The system is very beneficial and time efficient. Imagine trying to drive next to 8 of your riders at a time while measuring watts, mph, HR, cadence and RPE! Collecting the data is done automatically and of course distributing the data back to your athletes is key as well. They want to keep this information in their WKO+ files to review and study too.

Here is a short lesson on how to send these files to your athletes after a MultiRider training session:

There are two files saved after each Computrainer Race or Erg training session.  The Performance file can be read directly by the TrainingPeaks product WKO+ and if converted into a .txt file can be uploaded to the on-line Training Peaks system and some other training systems.  The Computrainer software also saves a Report that shows average and peak data for the session for all athletes in a text format.

Email the Report
Open the email system and click on attach file.  You will find the Report Text file in the directory Multirider/Reports.  Report files have the format yyyymmddhhmmss.text, this is the start time of the workout.  Note:  when you send this file it includes all the other athletes in the class.

Computrainer

Email the Performance File
(If the client is using WKO+ you can skip step 1.)

  1. Open the Computrainer Coaching Software (CS).  Click the File Drop Down menu and select export.   A pop up window will let you select the file to send.   The file name will include the date of the workout and the name of the athlete.  Double click it.  A message will tell you that a file with the same name but extension .txt has been created.
  2. Open the email system and attach the text file you just created to the message (or the .3dp file if sending to a WKO+ user).    Format of these files are: Athletename-Coursename-yyyy-mm-dd-hh-mm-ss.3dp

It really is this simple to send MultiRider files to your athletes. They will be happy for the extra service!
