In Memory of Chris Scheid

This past weekend, the TrainingPeaks family suffered the tragic loss of one of our own, Chris Scheid. Chris was part of our coach sales team and had been with us for almost 5 years. If you've started using our products in the last few years as a coach, you will have no doubt spoken with him or received an email from Chris. He was a smiling, caring individual, always ready to help anyone with their problems.

Undoubtedly, he was happiest when he could help solve a problem for someone else, be it letting you borrow some piece of personal equipment or lending a hand to teach someone how to use our products. He saw the best in people, and had no hesitation about telling them why they were exceptional and special. What made him happy was making others happy - that is what I will always remember of him.

I had known Chris personally for over 18 years, and hired him to help out our sales efforts several years ago. Though his role changed over the years, he was always first to volunteer for whatever task was required. He worked tirelessly to help coaches understand and learn our software, and he'll be forever missed. He was a fantastic friend and co-worker.

I will be forever in debt to his tireless work ethic and for all the things he's done for me personally and professionally. He was a huge part of growing this company to what it is today, and as one of his colleagues put it, “a ray of sunshine” to everyone who knew him. Chris, we will all miss you. Rest in peace.
